What if it rains/snows? |
|
We build in all types of weather all year long! We will do everything possible to relocate you to an indoor task in bad weather, but this may not always be possible, so please dress appropriately!

Where should we meet? |
|
Meet at the warehouse (1542 Barnum Ave. Bridgeport, CT 06610) if working in Greater Bridgeport. Volunteers working in Stamford meet at the construction site (251-257 W Main St Stamford).

What time should we meet/how will the day go? |
|
· Greater Bridgeport Construction Sites Volunteers working in greater Bridgeport begin arriving at the warehouse at 8:00 to sign-in and make nametags, complete any paperwork and to help load the trucks if necessary. · Our Opening will begin at 8:30 SHARP and then everyone will be dispersed to various sites immediately following the Opening. · Volunteers walk or drive their vehicles to the construction sites.
Stamford Construction Site Volunteers working in Stamford on weekdays begin work at the site at 8:00 sharp. Those volunteering on Saturday start at 8:30. ·
· Lunch is around 12:00/12:30 is usually about ˝ an hour, and is the responsibility of the group or individual volunteer. NOTE FOR GROUPS: if one group is split on various sites, please decide on lunch plans in advance. · The day normally ends about 3:00/3:30 - PLEASE HELP CLEAN UP THE SITE AND PUT MATERIALS AND TOOLS BACK ON THE TRUCK BEFORE LEAVING.

How should I dress? |
|
· Dress as stated earlier—for the weather! Also wear clothes that you do not care too much about. Because this is construction, clothes can get dirty, painted or otherwise ruined. · Wear hard, thick soled shoes—work boots are best!

What should I bring? |
|
· IT IS NOT REQUIRED THAT YOU BRING TOOLS, HOWEVER, if you have them, it is best to bring them so that you have them. If you do bring tools, please label everything with your name and take them home with you when you leave! · BEST THINGS TO HAVE/WEAR: + Pencil + Nail pouch + Tape measure + Hammer + Utility knife + Screw driver + Sunscreen + WORK BOOTS + WORK GLOVES + SAFETY GOGGLES + DUST MASKS + Lunch + Water + Snacks
